This five-day instructor-led course teaches students how to implement a SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services solution for data analysis in an organization. The course discusses how to use the Reporting Services development tools to create and manage reports and implement self-service BI solutions.  

The primary audience for this course is database professionals who need to fulfill a BI developer role to create reports. Primary responsibilities will include implementing reports and mobile reports. The secondary audience for this course is power information workers.
In addition to their professional experience, students who attend this training should have technical knowledge equivalent to the 20761A/B: Querying Data with Transact-SQL course.

This course is intended for administrators in a Microsoft-centric environment who want to build reusable units of automation, automate business processes, and enable less-technical colleagues to accomplish administrative tasks. Students should have taken “Automating Administration with Windows PowerShell (10961C)” or at least possess equivalent knowledge. Students should also have a strong background as a Windows PowerShell tool user, including running commands in the console. Additionally, a background in a scripting or programming language is recommended.

After completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Describe the patterns for building modularized tools in Windows PowerShell.
  • Build highly modularized functions that comply with native PowerShell patterns.
  • Build controller scripts that expose user interfaces and automate business processes.
  • Manage data in a variety of formats.
  • Write automated tests for tools.
