How To Apply

Canadian Students

Completion of Grade 12 (high school) is a requirement for all Canadian students/permanent residents to Canada who wish to enroll at SBC. Students who have met this requirement must provide their official grade 12 transcript to be accepted into their program.

Grade 11/12 students or those completing their GED 12/ABE 12 may apply and receive a conditional acceptance pending SBC’s receipt of your official transcripts.

Pre-enrollment Information Session

All prospective students must speak with an admissions advisor before they will be considered for acceptance. This appointment may be made in person, by phone, or by email correspondence.

Canadian students/permanent residents may make an appointment with an advisor by calling 1-800-679-7711 or by emailing SBC Admissions. For more information, Request More Info now.

International students may make an appointment with an advisor by calling (1)306-244-6333 or by emailing the International Student Advisor. For more information, Request More Info now.

GED 12/ABE 12/Grade 12 outside of Canada

Prospective students who have completed their GED 12/ABE 12/Grade 12 outside of Canada are still eligible to apply. SBC requires your official transcripts that prove you have completed your high school education. You may be asked to write the SBC assessment before you can be accepted.

SBC Assessment

The SBC assessment is a 30-45 minute timed test designed to assess your basic mathematics and English skills to ensure you will be successful in pursuing your diploma. A calculator will be provided for a portion of the test. Students who sit this basic examination will be contacted within 2-3 business days of their assessment with their results and up to two (2) rewrites are available.

Official Grade 12 transcripts

If you have official copies of your Grade 12/GED 12/ABE 12 transcripts, you may send them by mail or deliver them to SBC in person. At your request, we will review them, make copies, and return your originals to you.

If you do not have your official transcript, you will need to order them. Most provinces have automated this process so that past students can order them online. Check with your province’s Ministry of Education website to learn how you can obtain your official Grade 12 transcripts.

*Unofficial transcripts will grant students conditional acceptance pending SBC’s receipt of your official grade 12 transcripts.

** Administrative Assistant – Accelerated program requires original bachelor’s degree transcripts, which can usually be ordered through your post-secondary institution’s website.

Language Proficiency Requirements

English is the language of instruction at SBC. Applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of their English proficiency.
